A prototype will be built with a new body-manufacturer. This will be a CIT-truck based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 513 CDi panel-van and identical to the ones built in parallel, started in may. The prototype is being built as a result of advancing European standardization and the drive to come to a couple of preferred suppliers. For that cause, a few body-manufacturer need to prove their level of competence.
A prototype is always complex as the new manufacturer is not familiar with the standards and has a different internal process, want to include his standard solutions which need to be evaluated against the standard the end-user has.
